MetaDJ Privacy Policy
1. Scope and operator
Effective date: October 10, 2026. John Papa operates MetaDJ.live and MetaDJ.org to help artists reach a wider audience through music discovery and listening. This policy covers visitors and registered users. Contact: JohnAnthonyMarie@gmail.com, H074 2C3, Inyokern, CA 93527, United States. The registration of JohnAnthonyMarie.com as an alternate name does not itself extend this policy to that website.
2. Information collected
Account information: your email address is the real-world contact information we collect for an account. We also store your username, profile image and profile comment, which may contain personal information you choose to provide. We also keep an internal account ID and account creation time. We store a one-way hash of your password, not the password itself. Verification and password-reset processes use codes or tokens.
Content: uploaded tracks and their embedded MP3 tags, pictures, playlists, artist names and track metadata, and your Selected Tracks and Favorite Playlists. Uploads and metadata may contain personal information.
Usage: aggregate track play counts used for rankings.
Technical information: customer access and error logging is not enabled in our hosting configuration. The application records aggregate track play counts and can send diagnostic/error messages to the server error log. This statement does not describe any separate processing by the hosting provider. We will review this notice before enabling customer web logging and describe the information, purposes and retention that apply.
Communications: support and privacy requests, copyright notices and counter-notices, and information needed to respond.
3. How information is used
We use information to run accounts, verify email, reset passwords, store and play uploaded music, maintain playlists and metadata, display public profiles and rankings, respond to requests, diagnose errors, prevent abuse and comply with law.
4. Public content and listening
MetaDJ uses public profile, artist and playlist pages. Usernames, profile images/comments, artist names and artwork, playlist/track information, Selected Tracks and Favorite Playlists and playable audio can be accessed without signing in. Public files may be linked to or indexed by search engines. Review embedded MP3/image information before uploading. Do not upload confidential information or another person's personal information without appropriate permission. Listening-only restrictions do not make uploads private or guarantee that another person cannot save audio, images or other public information. Removing content does not remove copies or search-engine caches independently held by others.
5. Cookies, browser storage and tracking
MetaDJ.live uses sessions for sign-in and account features. MetaDJ.org receives a username through a short, single-use sign-in code from .live. Browser controls may block cookies and storage, but doing so may prevent sign-in features from working.
6. Who receives information
Public content is available to visitors as described above. The website uses a hosting/database service and an email-delivery provider to run accounts and verification/reset email. Messages sent to the contact inbox are processed through its email provider. We may disclose information to comply with lawful process or obligations, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse or address legal claims, as permitted by law. Copyright notices and counter-notices may be shared with the opposing party, including the name and contact details the law requires, so the complaint process can proceed. Do not include unrelated sensitive information.
7. Retention and removal
We keep account information and public account content while the account remains on the service. Account deletion requests are handled manually. We remove the account entry and associated artist, playlist and track records, remove the public account listing, and delete the account's public files. This does not remove independent copies or search-engine caches held by others.
Signup verification and password-reset codes remain in the account record until successful verification or password update, replacement by a new code, or account deletion. Unused account codes have no age-based expiry or scheduled cleanup. MetaDJ.org sign-in codes are valid for 120 seconds. Their files are removed on a redemption attempt; issuing another code also clears expired code files. An unused expired file can remain until a later cleanup event. These application events do not remove copies in email or provider records.
Our own local and server backups contain code only, not account databases or user content. We do not subscribe to an optional website-backup add-on. Our hosting and email providers may maintain separate records or archival copies; deleting an account from the live service does not itself erase those copies. No specific expiry for those provider copies has been established.
Support and copyright correspondence stays in our ordinary email inbox unless we manually delete it. There is no automatic deletion period for this mail, including after a matter is resolved. Customer web logging is not enabled. Application diagnostics and separate provider logs may be retained independently; no fixed retention period for those records has been established.
Restricting access to content for review or possible restoration is not deletion. Permanent removal from the live service is distinct from provider records, correspondence and independent copies. Contact JohnAnthonyMarie@gmail.com for account-removal or privacy requests; do not send your password.
8. Your choices and privacy requests
You may use available controls to edit your profile image/comment, manage playlists, edit track metadata and remove uploaded tracks or playlists. Selected Tracks and Favorite Playlists are also managed through available features. To request access, correction, account closure or deletion, or ask a privacy question, email JohnAnthonyMarie@gmail.com. John Papa handles these requests manually and aims to respond within 30 days, subject to applicable legal deadlines. We may require reasonable identity verification before releasing information or changing an account. Do not send your password.
9. Security, location and children
Password hashing and email verification help protect accounts, but no system is completely secure. Use a unique password and protect your email account. Contact JohnAnthonyMarie@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
MetaDJ is intended for adults aged 18 and older, not children or teens. If you believe a minor has provided account information, contact JohnAnthonyMarie@gmail.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
10. Changes and contact
We will update this policy and its effective date when practices change. For material changes we will notify account holders by email and post a site notice before the change where required. We will obtain consent where required by law. Privacy questions: John Papa, JohnAnthonyMarie@gmail.com, H074 2C3, Inyokern, CA 93527, United States.
